Summer Camps

Summer camp is an amazing opportunity for growth, independence, and increased self-esteem.

Every year, the Children’s Heart Network organizes two summer camps, one for children ages 8 to 12 and one for teens ages 13 to 19. Both camps are very popular and provide opportunities for children and youth to participate in a wide range of physical and social activities, and to have fun and connect with others who have faced similar challenges.

Our camps give participants the opportunity to explore the outdoors while developing greater social and environmental awareness, increased self-confidence, and a positive attitude toward physical activity.

These annual camps are currently held at Zajac Ranch.  They have a 24/7 on-site medical supervision and a direct link to the cardiologist-on-call at BC Children’s Hospital if needed. All staff and volunteers are trained in emergency procedures. Parents and caregivers can be sure that the health and safety of all campers is a priority for all children and youth attending camp.

Family Camps

This year we will hold one Family Camp for Island and Lower Mainland families at Camp Kawkawa for a weekend in June where we hope to have about 25 families.

The Children’s Heart Network is able to provide this amazing camp experience thanks to the generous sponsorship of the CKNW Kids’ Fund and ongoing contributions to Mila’s Fund.
