BC Children’s Hospital patients (past and present!) are invited to volunteer at the CPKC Women’s Open golf tournament.
The CPKC Women’s Open is the only Canadian stop on the LPGA tour, taking place August 21–27, 2023, at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club. BCCH Foundation is the official charity partner of the 2023 tournament, with a goal of raising $2.5 million for innovative cardiac research, care, and support at BCCH.
BCCH Foundation has an exciting opportunity for current and past BCCH patients to attend the event and have the chance at meeting some of the pros at this renowned tournament.
Junior Starters Program
The Junior Starters Program will welcome kids to the opening tee to assist Golf Canada’s officials at the start of each player’s competitive round. This program offers an excellent opportunity for juniors to see their favourite LPGA professionals up close as they hit their opening tee shot. They will get the opportunity to shake hands with the players and assist in handing out the scorecards, with direction from the starter. All participants will receive an apparel package to wear on the day of their shift.
Dates: Friday, August 25, Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27
Time: Shifts are available from 6:15 am to 2:30 pm
Registration: See the sign-up sheet to register
Location: Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club (4300 SW Marine Drive, Vancouver)
Other information: Parents will receive two tickets for the day your child is volunteer. Your child must be able to stand with Golf Canada officials alone for 30+ minutes.
BCCH Foundation is hoping to hear back from families as soon as possible to give the CPKC team enough time to order shirts and apparel for participants. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ali Omelaniec at email@example.com.
