Topic and Speaker

Astrid De Souza is an ACSM clinical exercise physiologist who has worked in the Children’s Heart Centre at BC Children’s Hospital since 2006. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology in 2005. Astrid is passionate about exercise in children. She has coached athletes of all levels in various sports. Her goal is to ensure that both healthy children and those with chronic diseases have positive activity experiences and that they learn skills to be active through these experiences. Combining both her clinical and coaching experience, Astrid’s topic is “Helping our children develop the skills they need to be active over their lifespan.”
