Our third family camp weekend for Vancouver Island heart families with children ages 4 and up!

CHN would like to host 10 families for a weekend of fun and an opportunity to connect with other heart families. Spaces are limited; priority will be given to families that haven’t attended in the past.

When: June 5–7, arriving Friday between 6:00 and 7:00 pm and departing Sunday after lunch

Where: YMCA-YWCA Camp Thunderbird, 5040 Glinz Lake Road, Sooke, BC

There are five large heated cabins with power and washrooms, so there will be two families per cabin. If you would like a private cabin for your family, there are some additional cabins that don’t have heat or power—just bring a lantern and/or flashlights.

We hope to have archery, rock climbing, swimming, games, arts and crafts, boating, good food, and campfires!

The cost per family will be $100, and CHN will cover the balance.

What you need to do:

  1. Ensure your CHN membership is up to date. To join or renew, please visit https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/46723/donation and choose “CHN membership” from the drop-down list. The cost is $25 per family per year.
  2. RSVP by April 20 to Sam at saitken@childrensheartnetwork.org.
  3. Send a cheque for $100 to confirm your spot to:

Note: Depending on the number of families that RSVP, we may have to do a draw. Ideally children should be 4 years old or over. We are also looking for a parent that has a first aid certificate; please let us know if you have one.
