Do you have a heart child between the ages of 13 and 19? They are invited to attend the Children’s Heart Network’s end-of-the-school-year celebration on June 27.

What: A youth-themed pirate cruise around Granville Island on our own private boat!

Some of the activities include:

  • Discovering the treasure map
  • Solving the maps secrets & mysteries
  • Defending the ship with our water cannons against the evil Pirate Pete
  • Surviving a mutiny
  • Hauling the loot aboard
  • Sharing the booty
  • Singing a sea shanty, with a wee bit of grog
  • And generally living the adventure of a pirate for a moment of time

The Hearts of Gold group will meet a little earlier to enjoy and explore Granville Island and the market!

Where: Granville Island; meet at the Keg (close to entrance of island at 1661 Duranleau St. Vancouver)

When: Saturday, June 27, 2015

Drop-off: 3:00 pm

Pickup: 7:00 pm (by the KEG) Cruise is 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

Why: To celebrate the start of summer (end of school too!) and experience life as a pirate for a couple hours.

Hearts of Gold

CHN’s Hearts of Gold program offers monthly fun outings and activities for teens ages 13 to 19 to meet, learn, and have fun with other teens growing up with heart disease. Vancouver activities are supervised by Hearts of Gold coordinator Kristi Coldwell and Victoria events are supervised by Krista Molia. Both Kristi and Krista are child life specialists with extensive experience working with youth and they always make sure new members always feel welcomed and comfortable. New teens are always welcome to join!
